Image Cropping and sizing

Pardon what may be a simple question, but I'm a rookie to InfranView and learning. When cropping an image, when selecting the portion of the image to crop, is there a way to auto ration the dimensions of the saved portion of the image that will insure a proper sized and shaped image when printing? Thanks for helping a rookie!

Yes.
Assuming that the image is fitted to the window, just Select all (press Ctrl+A) which sets the Selection box around the whole image. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the sides of the Selection box in to resize it (that maintains the aspect ratio of the box). Release Ctrl, move the mouse pointer inside the box and drag the box while pressing the Right mouse button to place it where you want it.

Create a custom selection of the ratio you require for printing, e.g. 2:3 and smaller than the image.

Apply the custom selection to the image

Position it with the right mouse, and resize it by holding control key and dragging the edge of the selection.
